On the corner of Prussia Street and St Joseph's Road in Dublin, is a structure whose terracotta paintwork is cracked, windows bordered up, rooftop sprouting foliage, like hair.
Out front, black shutters remain permanently closed. Above, a panel with gold lettering advertises the space’s now redundant function: Lally Newsagent. I live nearby, but for years didn’t notice this building.
